Currently Building

A macOS project I’m building to make years of dash-camera footage easier to organize, review, and preserve. Development is currently focused on the application interface, with work on media handling coming next. It’s a chance to turn a practical problem into useful software while continuing to learn.

I’m also developing this website and building out my home lab, with Ubiquiti tools and 3D-printed mini racks providing plenty to explore.

Currently Learning

SwiftUI, AI-assisted development, and practical ways to turn ideas into useful software. I’m exploring AI for research and analysis, revisiting familiar tasks and learning new ones such as financial planning. A big part of that learning is checking results, questioning assumptions, and understanding the limits.

In the lab, I’m learning more about Ubiquiti administration and refining 3D prints with my nephew.

Apple: The First 50 Years

By David Pogue

I’m enjoying it as a reminder that every meaningful product starts with someone deciding to create something that didn’t exist before. I don’t need to build the next Apple. I just find the process of starting something new inspiring.

Life Lately

  • Cycling regularly, alternating rides toward Herndon and Clarks Gap.
  • Building out the home lab and experimenting with 3D-printed mini racks.
  • Celebrating twenty years with Nicole, including a Bahamas anniversary trip.
  • Making more room for building software, writing, and exploring what comes next.

What’s Next

Moving toward media handling in DashCam Archive, writing more Notes, and continuing to experiment in the lab. I’m leaving room to follow the ideas that prove useful along the way.
